LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Lima Senior hosted its 12th annual Mega-Scrimmage on Saturday, giving fans an early look at several area teams as they prepare for the upcoming high school basketball season.

The Spartans opened the day with a competitive run against Westland.

Northern Kentucky commit Willie Foster set the tone early, slicing through the defense for a contested layup. Moments later, Junior guard Taco Haithcock knocked down a corner 3-pointer to extend the momentum.

Foster continued to draw the crowd’s attention when he leaked out in transition and finished an alley-oop off the glass, prompting cheers throughout the gym.

Lima Senior is scheduled to open its season Dec. 5 on the road against Toledo Start.

St. John’s also took part in the Mega-Scrimmage, matching up with St. Vincent–St. Mary. Furman commit Cam Elwer capitalized on a down-screen, cutting backdoor for an easy layup before later connecting from long range with a 3-pointer.

The Blue Jays will begin their regular season Nov. 28 with a road matchup against Kalida.
