FINDLAY, Ohio — Ohio Wildlife Officer Nolan Johnson, of Marblehead, has been assigned to Van Wert County, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. A 2024 graduate of the Wildlife Officer Academy, Officer Johnson previously served at-large in northwest Ohio. He replaces Ohio Wildlife Officer Nathan Robinson, who was recently promoted to wildlife investigator.
Officer Johnson, 22, graduated from Danbury High School and then Hocking College in 2022 with a degree in natural resources law enforcement. Prior to becoming a wildlife officer, Johnson worked for the Division of Wildlife’s Sandusky Fisheries Research Station as a wildlife technician.
As a wildlife officer, Johnson has statewide authority to enforce wildlife regulations and protect state lands, waterways, and property. He also contributes to public safety both locally in northwest Ohio and in Ohio’s vast outdoors. Each year, Ohio’s wildlife officers speak to hundreds of clubs and groups about conservation and wildlife programs; perform fish and wildlife surveys; and provide technical advice and instruction about hunting, fishing, and other outdoor-related recreation.
