BATH TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - A Lima woman is dead following a crash last night on State Route 65 in Bath Township.
The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting that 43-year-old Brenda Linser was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers report Linser failed to negotiate a curve driving north on 65. She went off the road and hit a pole and multiple trees before overturning. The post reports she was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol, drugs, and distractions are suspected to be factors in the crash which remains under investigation.
November 14, 2023 Press Release from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol: Bath Township – The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred on State Route 65 in Bath Township, Allen County. The crash occurred on November 13, 2023 at approximately 9:47 P.M.
A red 2020 Chevrolet Trax, driven by Brenda Linser, age 43, of Lima was traveling north on State Route 65. Linser failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle traveled off the roadway. The vehicle struck a pole and multiple trees before overturning. Linser was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Bath Township Fire and EMS, H&H Funeral Services and Able Wrecker Service.
Linser was not wearing a safety belt. Alcohol, drugs and distractions are suspected to be factors in the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol would like to remind motorists to not drive impaired, stay focused on driving and to wear a properly adjusted seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
