The two-day camp for 5 and 6-year-olds features a hike using a hand lens to discover more about different plants and animals.

"They really love all of it. We have some mystery questions that we're going to have to look for the mysteries. We're going to have signs. We're going to do a pond study; we're going to lay in the grass and just look at the clouds, see what the clouds look like. You know, I used to do that when I was a little kid. We're just going to have a great time," said Doreen Martin, a naturalist at Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District.

Well, I always wanted to learn about nature and stuff, so yeah. So I've always wanted; when I was just a little kid, I loved nature, and I've always wanted to look after it, so yeah," commented Carter Philips, a 6-year-old nature detective.
