With various local organizations coming together, the Allen County Museum says this event is great for the community.

Over 150 Christmas trees have been decorated and wrapped with bright lights for the fifty-second annual Christmas Tree Festival. The Christmas trees are decorated by various Lima businesses and organizations, with some trees even having fun themes.

In addition to all the trees, Evergreen the Talking Tree will make a return along with an appearance from Santa himself. There will also be thumbprint ornaments, performances, crafts with the Children's Discovery Center, Gifts of the Earth by the Allen County Master Gardeners, and Christmas baked goods.

"We like partnering with the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District. We also partner with the Ohio State Allen County Master Gardeners, so those two organizations, as well as a bunch of volunteers, actually come together to plan this event every year. It is a great community event for that reason. This year, as I said, we have over 150 trees, which is more than we've had in the past. We also have the MacDonell House, which is decorated for the holiday and is an opportunity for people to go through it for free," said Dr. Christine Fowler-Shearer, director of the Allen County Museum.
