LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – A local fabric store is part of a statewide trail that is bringing in tourists and boosting the economy.
The All Ohio “Shop Hop” attracts quilters and sewers from across the state and beyond. Participants visit one of the more than 80 participating stores, get their passport stamped, and continue traveling to other shops for a chance to win prizes.
A magazine highlights all of the locations, including Heavenly Stitches in Allen County, which is featured on page 23. Owner Chandra Neeper said the program has brought in new customers and benefits other area businesses as well.
“Brings a lot of traffic. So far here in Allen County, we’ve seen an additional 580 hoppers come through Heavenly Stitches. So that’s a lot coming off I-75 into our area, and they’re always asking where to eat, and we guide them to local eateries,” Neeper said.
The Shop Hop runs through Sept. 30. For more information, contact Heavenly Stitches.
