LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Step back in time with the Allen County Museum as it brings the 1930s to life with a special two-day event, Life in America – The 1930s. The museum will be filled with crafts, food, and entertainment that offer a glimpse into a pivotal decade in both local and national history.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the era through interactive activities designed to educate and engage people of all ages.
“It’s basically everything that’s going on in Lima in the ’30s, but also what’s going on around the nation,” said Hannah Bergstedt, Public Engagement and Learning Coordinator at the Lima Public Library. “I think we all know the Great Depression — that’s what the 1930s are known for. But there were other things going on. And actually, Lima did better than a lot of communities during that time because of all of our industry, so we’ll be talking about all of that.”
Life in America – The 1930s will be held Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Allen County Museum. The event is free and open to the public.
