LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Applications for the City of Lima’s Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and HOME funds are now available.

Applications open for Lima Community Development Grants

The city uses a Consolidated Plan, shaped by community input, to guide how the funds will be distributed.

Both funding opportunities are federally supported through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The city uses a Consolidated Plan, shaped by community input, to guide how the funds will be distributed. The plan identifies needs and outlines potential projects that can be undertaken by local organizations or community groups seeking funding.

“These projects help us with a number of things — from our down payment assistance to demolitions and street resurfacing in the city of Lima — so it does a lot for our community, absolutely,” said Carmillia Zion, director of Housing and Neighborhoods.

A public hearing and application briefing will be held Monday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. in Lima City Council chambers. Applications will be available at that time. The deadline to apply is Monday, May 5, by 5 p.m.
