BLUFFTON, OH (WLIO) - The Bluffton American Legion Post 382 donated thousands of dollars Monday evening to nine local non-profit organizations.

Each year, Post 382 holds the Fred Arnold Memorial Charitable Golf Scramble, and the proceeds accumulated from the event all go toward local non-profits. This year, more than $6,000 was donated among nine non-profits, including the Bluffton Food Pantry and Family YMCA, along with Flag City Honor Flight and the American Legion Operation Comfort Warrior, to name a few. For over a decade, Post 382 has been hitting the green each year to make a difference locally.

For over a decade, Post 382 has been hitting the green each year to make a difference locally.

"This tournament has been around for about 13 years. If you back out several years from the pandemic, we actually have participated in the tournament for 10 or 11 years, and in the past 10 or 11 years, we've donated in excess of $60,000 to non-profit organizations in this area. It's just our way of saying thank you and helping out the other non-profits in the area," says Kurt Emans, Commander, Bluffton American Legion Post 382.

Post 382 holds the Fred Arnold Memorial Charitable Golf Scramble on the second Saturday in June.
