LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The case of a Lima man involved in a standoff on the Fourth of July is moving to Allen County Common Pleas Court.

William "Frankie" Edge, 46, is being held in the Allen County Jail on felonious assault and weapons charges.

The case will be presented to a grand jury, which could return additional charges against him.

According to Lima detectives, Edge allegedly fired a shot at his girlfriend during an argument in her home and then fled the scene. While she was speaking with officers about the incident, police reported hearing gunshots coming from 792 Greenlawn Avenue. Edge was reportedly inside the residence and refused to come out.

The standoff lasted several hours. Police obtained a search warrant, and the SWAT team entered the home and arrested him.

Edge is being held on a $180,000 bond.
