LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Lima Rotary Club, a cornerstone of community service since 1915, is continuing its commitment to the region with a new slate of fundraising efforts and supported projects approved during its annual meeting.
The club and its foundation have long played a vital role in providing post-secondary scholarships, grants to local nonprofit organizations, and backing for Rotary International initiatives.

“We have a lot of excellent organizations in the community that do great things for people of all ages,” said Troy Elwer, incoming Rotary Foundation president. “Our main goal and mission as the Rotary Foundation Board is to award them with grant opportunities and dollars that they can either put toward their general operating budget for the year or for a specific project that they’re looking to accomplish, either in a facility or in the community.”
One of the club’s major fundraisers is the annual Rotary Blood Clinic, scheduled for Saturday, May 3, from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Senior Citizens Services on West Elm Street.
The Lima Rotary Club encourages community members to participate in its events and support its mission to uplift and invest in the local community.
