COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) — An Ohio Senate committee has approved a bill that would change work limitations for 14- and 15-year-olds.

The total number of hours they could work would be 18 per week during the school year.
Currently, anyone under the age of 16 can work only three hours a day and cannot work later than 7 p.m. However, the proposed bill would allow students, with parental permission, to work until 9 p.m. The total number of hours they could work would be 18 per week during the school year, with additional hours permitted during the summer months.
The full Senate has yet to vote on the proposed bill.
