LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Ohio State University at Lima rolled up its sleeves Wednesday for its January blood drive.

The Ohio State Lima Student Senate sponsored the event in partnership with the American Red Cross. Students, staff, and volunteers were invited to donate and do their part to help fight the national blood shortage. As a thank-you for their contribution, donors received snacks and rolls from Texas Roadhouse.

According to the Red Cross, approximately 29,000 units of red blood cells are needed daily in the U.S., and a single donation can help save multiple lives.
