LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Car enthusiasts showed their support during the 46th Annual Rebel Run.

Around 200 classic and custom cars and trucks filled the parking lots at Johnny Appleseed’s Ottawa Metro Park for this year’s event. Bob Wrasman took over the Rebel Run a couple of years ago, and after last year’s event he feared the legacy car show might come to an end. But thanks to the response from sponsors, guests and car owners, he is thrilled the Rebel Run is set to keep rolling for years to come.

Rebel Run keeps legacy alive as the legacy car show raises funds for local charities

“I've spent the last two years going to the car shows, meeting the car clubs, and getting them to rally around us, and I've been going and giving products and prizes to their shows. And in return, I think today, it all paid back like tenfold. We don't want people that are coming out just for the trophy. We want people to come out and enjoy the cars, have a social event, enjoy a beautiful park. The Johnny Appleseed Park has been great. I'm just blessed, and I'm so happy to see us turn the corner and save a legacy type car show that we wanted to keep going and we accomplished it,” says Bob Wrasman, organizer of the Rebel Run.

Proceeds from the Rebel Run and drawings will benefit local autism charities, as well as Macular Degeneration and Low Vision of Lima.
