July 15, 2025, Press Release from the UAW Local 2075 Veterans Committee:

LIMA, Ohio  – In a meaningful act of remembrance and community pride, Shawnee Township Cemetery is partnering with the UAW Local 2075 Veterans Committee for a Veterans Monument Clean-Up on Saturday, July 19, from 10:00AM to 3:00 PM.

The project will focus on cleaning and restoring veterans’ headstones throughout the historic Shawnee Township Cemetery, which was established in 1840 and is the final resting place for many of the township’s founding families. Veterans buried at the site served in numerous American conflicts, from the War of 1812 through more recent service in Afghanistan.

This collaborative effort reflects the dedication of both organizations to honoring the past and preserving the stories of the local heroes who shaped Shawnee Township community and defended the nation.
