LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima Area Habitat for Humanity kicked off a new fundraiser on Thursday.
The first "Luxury Lockup – Jail and Bail" fundraiser was held at Milano Cafe. Participants were "put in jail" and had to raise $1,000 through raffle tickets, silent auction items, and donations to "pay their bail".
Once released, they were treated to lunch, and Perennial Glow Spa offered 10-minute massages. Hometown Stations meteorologist Conner Prince served as a guest host for a trivia game. Conner led two teams in his own creation of "Jeopardy!" with questions on Ohio history, U.S. presidents, and more.

"It will be raising money for our Shingles of Hope program, where we go out and work on repairing roofs in Lima specifically," said Caleb Farmer, associate director for Habitat for Humanity Lima Area. "That's really important, because helping especially the older population age in place, having that critical home repair, gives them the peace of mind that they need to be able to know that they can stay in their home and be safe."
The event was designed as a creative fundraiser for Lima Area Habitat for Humanity, different from its other traditional fundraisers, such as the coffee and dessert tasting.
