LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The American Red Cross is urging people to lend an arm this summer to make sure hospitals have much-needed blood on hand.
The Red Cross says they are critically in need of blood because they are seeing fewer donors rolling up their sleeves to give blood. Over the past month, they estimate around 20,000 fewer blood donations were collected than were needed to impact their blood supply, with blood donations historically lower during the summer months.
They would like people to take less than an hour to help save a life. To find blood donation dates and locations in our area, go to redcrossblood.org.
