Ezra Siegrist

A grand jury indicted 29-year-old Brandon Edwards of Celina yesterday and he was taken into custody today (Friday, February 18th) on 8 counts including involuntary manslaughter, aggravated possession of drugs, endangering children, and domestic violence.

The death of 2-year-old Ezra Siegrist was ruled a homicide after an autopsy found that he died of methamphetamine intoxication. The child was found unresponsive after a 9-1-1 call and was transported to Mercer Health where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

An investigation revealed that Edwards was living at the residence in Montezuma and was in a relationship with Ezra’s mother at the time of his death. He is being held at the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility awaiting a court appearance.
