Families enjoy outdoor story time at Cridersville’s Tower Park

CRIDERSVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) – Sunny skies and warm weather made for the perfect setting at Tower Park Monday morning, where dozens of children and their parents gathered for Cridersville Public Library’s weekly outdoor story time.

Held in the park’s open-air shelter house, the event drew a full crowd and featured far more than just books. In addition to reading, children enjoyed music, singing, dancing, and even chasing bubbles.

Parents say they look forward to the event just as much as their kids.

“They love to meet up with their friends from the neighborhood here at story time,” said Megan Wood, who brings her daughters regularly. “Outdoor ones are really fun because we have a playground right there, so she gets to go hang out at the playground right after story time.”

“We love story time because all the kids can get involved,” said Karen Kane. “They feel involved and sing and read along. Especially with this nice weather, it's nice to get out and do it in a different environment.”

The next outdoor story time is scheduled for Monday, August 11, at 10:30 a.m. in Tower Park’s open-air shelter house, located at the end of South Water Street.
