LIMA, OH (WLIO) - An executive from Ford Motor Company is calling on the UAW to bring an end to talks.
Bill Ford, executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, made his first public comments Monday since negotiations started with the United Auto Workers Union and the big three motor companies. Ford said that he understands how vital UAW workers are to the company, saying that they have offered a record contract that would make the employees among the best-paid manufacturing workers in the world.
"The UAW leaders have called us the enemy in these negotiations, but I will never consider our employees as enemies. This should not be Ford versus the UAW. It should be Ford and the UAW versus Toyota, Honda, Tesla, and all the Chinese companies that want to enter our home market," commented Bill Ford, executive chairman of Ford Motor Company.
Ford further stated that the shutdown of truck plants, much like their Kentucky plant, would harm tens of thousands of Americans.
