In recent years, issues with Grand Lake St. Marys has made attendance at Grand Lake St. Marys State Park lower for the Fourth of July. But things are looking up this year.
With blue-green algae levels lower than in years past, camping numbers are up for this Fourth of July weekend. According to park manager Brian Miller, nearly all the camping sites with power are full and a majority of the non-electric ones are as well.
Miller says he expects the remaining camping sites with power to be full by tonight if the weather stays nice.
