WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) — The man who broke out of an Auglaize County courtroom window and led officers on a four-county police chase is back in the Auglaize County to face charges.

Nathaniel Nix, Jr. 36, is facing charges of felonious assault, escape, and fleeing and eluding in connection with the incident on Feb. 4.

That day, a judge revoked Nix's bond on drug and tampering with evidence charges, which prompted him to break out of the courtroom window and flee.

While driving away in his SUV, Nix briefly dragged a deputy who was attempting to stop him. The deputy sustained minor injuries.

Nix was spotted in Lima, and the chase began through the city before heading north on I-75.

In Wood County, law enforcement were able to disable his car and shut it down remotely before arresting him. A preliminary hearing has been set for next week.
