Friday November 8, 2024
0059 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on West Ervin Road in the City of Van Wert to assist the Van Wert Police.
0340 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Leeson Avenue in the City of Van Wert to assist the Van Wert Police.
0918 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on North Cherry Street in the Village of Convoy for a juvenile that had left school property without permission.
1145 hrs. – Deputies assisted with a Funeral Escort from the City of Van Wert to Ridge Cemetery.
1246 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of South Central in the Village of Ohio City for a report of juveniles trespassing.
1313 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on North Walnut Street in the Village of Middle Point to standby as a peace officer while a subject retrieved property.
1417 hrs. – Deputies served two warrants issued by Van Wert County Common Pleas Court. Donald Eugene Lewis age 60 of Van Wert is being held at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility on the following, Second Degree Felony Aggravated Possession of Drugs, Third-Degree Felony Aggravated Possession of Drugs, and Fifth-Degree Felony Possession of LSD.
1436 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Pleasant Township for a subject having chest pain.
1444 hrs. – Dispatched Ohio City EMS to a residence on State Route 118 in Liberty Township for a subject with knee injury.
1633 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Lincoln Highway in the City of Van Wert to deliver a message to a resident.
1644 hrs. - Deputies along with Ohio City Fire and EMS responded to an area of U.S. Route 127 in Pleasant Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Unit One, a white 207 Kia Forte, driven by Elizabeth Rosenbeck, was southbound on U.S. 127 near Peter Collins Rd. Unit two, a black 2024 Kia Carnival, driven by Megan Tims was southbound on U.S. 127 near Peter Collins Rd. Unit Two came to a stop on U.S. 127 to make a left-hand turn onto Peter Collins Rd. when Unit One failed to stop rear ending Unit Two. Unit One and Unit Two sustained minor damage. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. The driver of Unit Two and the occupants were transported to Van Wert Health as a precaution by Ohio City EMS.
1650 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on North Jefferson Street in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.
1755 hrs. – Dispatched Middle Point Fire to an area of Bellis Road in Washington Township for a report of a shed fire.
2055 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on South Central in the Village of Ohio City for a report of criminal damaging.
2156 hrs. – Dispatched Ohio City Fire to a residence on Greenville Road in Pleasant Township for an odor investigation.
2236 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Wren Landeck Road in Liberty Township for a report of an injured deer.

0504 hrs. – Dispatched Wren EMS to a residence on State Route 81 in Willshire Township for a subject who was ill.
0845 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Lincoln Highway in Pleasant Township to check the welfare of a subject in a vehicle.
0930 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Alspach Road in Liberty Township to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.
0946 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Ohio Street in the Village of Convoy for a report of a loose dog.
0959 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Lincoln Highway in Ridge Township for a motor vehicle crash involving a deer, no injuries were reported.
1052 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Davis Street in the City of Van Wert for a report of two loose dogs.
1122 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a residence from the Village of Ohio City on a report of a possible scam.
1148 hrs. – Dispatched Wren EMS to a residence on Harrison Willshire Road in Willshire Township for a subject with chest pain.
1243 hrs. – Dispatched Willshire Fire and Wren Fire to an area of Willshire Eastern Road in Willshire Township for a report of a ditch fire.
1413 hrs. – Dispatched Spencerville EMS to a residence on State Route 117 in Jennings Township for a subject who had fallen.
1856 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Elm Sugar Road in Hoaglin Township for a report of liquid manure spilled on the roadway.
2036 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Van Wert Willshire Road in Liberty Township to deliver a message.
2050 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Richey Road in Pleasant Township for a report of a protection order violation.
2204 hrs. – Deputies took a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a deer that had occurred on U.S. Route 30 in Ridge Township, no injuries were reported.
2315 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of John Brown Road in Pleasant Township for a noise complaint and report of reckless driving.
