AUGLAIZE COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - In Auglaize County, the Wapakoneta Area Ministerial Association held its annual Day of Prayer celebration outside of the fire station.
The religious leaders from the different Wapakoneta churches took turns saying prayers for nine segments of our country, like the military, families, and the church itself. But even though they come from different religious backgrounds, they are unified when it comes to praying over where they live.
"There is a couple of different pastoral organizations, and we have a couple of different approaches. But in praying for our people, our community, there is definitely unity there," says Rev. Doug Pretorius, St. Mark's Lutheran Church. "And so what we are hoping and experiencing in this time is to say thank you, God bless you, especially to those who service in so many various ways."
The theme for the 2024 National Day of Prayer was "Lift Up the Word, Light Up the World."
