WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) - History buffs took to the streets Tuesday night in downtown Wapakoneta to learn more about the rich history of the Auglaize County seat.

The Auglaize County Historical Society hosted tours beginning at the Auglaize County Municipal Court and took local residents through Downtown Wapak to learn about some of the buildings they may drive by every single day.

"I think it's great to have these tours because, you see, we're getting quite a little crowd here now, and people do. They learn about the town and what's been here in the past, and there's just a lot of buildings uptown that people wouldn't believe all the things. We even had a couple of them that had speakeasies in and dance halls," says Karen Layman, Tour Guide.
