Lima Noon Sertoma Club names 2017 Poster Child

May is Better Speech and Hearing Month and the Lima Noon Sertoma Club is continuing their efforts to help children overcome any communication obstacles.

5-year-old Avery Bacon was named the 2017 poster child. She is the daughter of Brian and Karen Bacon of Lima. Avery has been participating in the Lima Noon Sertoma Club's Summer Speech Program for two years, which has greatly helped her with communication skills through therapy and play.

"The Lima Sertoma Hearing and Speech Program is fantastic and like I said, if they're getting services during the school year, that whatever school they are at they can just then bridge, the program will bridge that throughout the summer so they can still practice what they need to be working on for the next school year," commented Avery's mother, Karen Bacon.

You can help support the Sertoma Speech and Hearing Program this summer. It was announced that they will receive a portion of the proceeds from the 10th annual Dan King Memorial Poker Run. That's being held Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Fairgrounds Pizza and Pub on Harding Highway.
