Mobility Foundation hosts fall prevention program for seniors

Seniors in Auglaize County got a lesson in fall prevention.

The Mobility Foundation, along with Community Health Professionals and Wapak Physical Therapy, hosted a fall prevention program, advising seniors to do things like using nonslip mats in bathrooms and placing night lights around the house. The groups feel it is important to get this information out as the older people get, the more likely they are to fall.

"Falls are very prevalent in older adults, so we just want to provide some education on things they can do to prevent that, and also the ways that physical therapy can help that if they do feel like they're at risk for falls," says physical therapist Nikki Wenzlick.
