December 18, 2023 Press Release from the Delphos Police Department: The Delphos Police Department received 273 calls for service in the month of November. The following is a partial list of calls handled for the month of November and do not include traffic citations, crashes, ect.
The police department has a large number of bicycles that have been located or turned in. If you are missing a bicycle, please come to the police department and describe the bicycle you are missing, and we will get it back to you.
On 11-1-2023 officers spoke with a female in the 200 block of W. Clime St, who reported receiving threatening text messages from another female.
On 11-1-2023 officers spoke with a female who reported that her mother was being scammed out of a large sum of money.
On 11-1-2023 a male called from the 1300 block of Rose Anna St, to report juveniles in the area ringing doorbells and running.
On 11-2-2023 officers spoke with a female in the 500 block of N. Main St, who reported that a neighbor is damaging her property when she backs out of her driveway.
On 11-3-2023 officers took a report from an employee at a bank after it was found that subjects had installed a skimmer on the ATM.
On 11-3-2023 a female called the police department to report receiving threats from two females with whom she used to work.
On 11-4-2023 officers were sent to the 1100 block of N. Washington St, for a suspicious male. Officers arrived and found that an intoxicated male had gone to the wrong house thinking it was his.
On 11-4-2023 officers responded to the 1100 block of Marsh Ave, to check for a male threatening to harm himself. Officers located the male and transported him to the hospital for an evaluation.
On 11-5-2023 officers responded to the 100 block of E. 7th St, for a loud music complaint.
On 11-6-2023 a male came to the police department to report that an unknown person hacked his Verizon account and ordered two cell phones.
On 11-6-2023 officers were asked to perform a well being check on a male who had not been heard from for some time.
On 11-6-2023 a male called the police department to report that his daughter’s cell phone was stolen by her ex-boyfriend.
On 11-6-2023 officers were dispatched to the 400 block of E. 8th St, for a Domestic Disturbance. Officers arrived and met with a male and female and their children. Officers investigated the incident and found probable cause to arrest a female, 34-year-old Ashley Stemen of Delphos for causing or attempting to cause physical harm to a family or household member.
On 11-7-2023 officers were sent to the 700 block of W. Clime St, for a Domestic Disturbance. Officers found that a male and female were arguing and nothing physical had occurred.
On 11-7-2023 officers spoke with a business owner on Gressel Dr, who reported that a previous employee had mis-used an account and stole a large sum of money from him.
On 11-7-2023 officers were asked to perform a well being check on a male in the 300 block of N. Main St, after his daughter stated that she had not heard from him in some time.
On 11-8-2023 officers spoke with a male in the 500 block of Lima Ave, who reported that his neighbor made a statement that he felt threatened by.
On 11-8-2023 a female called from the 700 block of Spencerville Rd, to report her son being disobedient and unruly.
On 11-9-2023 officers were sent to the 400 block of Moxie Ln, in reference to a Domestic Dispute. Officers found that the male and female were arguing and had decided to separate for the night.
On 11-10-2023 officers were dispatched to the 200 block of W. Clime St, for an unwanted guest complaint. Officers arrived and met with a male and female. The male, not a resident at the address, refused to leave and became disorderly. The male, 33-year-old Raphael Hall, of Van Wert, was taken into custody for Persistent Disorderly Conduct.
On 11-10-2023 a female called from the 900 block of E. 3rd St, reporting that she had received a threatening phone call from an unknown male.
On 11-11-2023 officers were sent to the 200 block of King St, to investigate two separate 911 hang up calls.
On 11-12-2023 officers were dispatched to a Domestic Disturbance in the 300 block of S. Bredeick St. Upon arrival they met with a male and female who stated that the female was having an argument with the male’s mother.
On 11-13-2023 officers met with a male and female at their home in the 500 block of W. 2nd St. The couple told officers that a male was attempting to break into their residence during the early morning hours. The incident was caught on video and the incident is being investigated by the Detective Bureau.
On 11-13-2023 a female called the police department to report a theft. The female told officers that she had given permission to a homeless female to take some clothes, but the female took a television and other items.
On 11-13-2023 a male called the police department from the 1300 block of N. Main St, stating that his daughter was being unruly and needed removed from the residence.
On 11-13-2023 officers were sent to the 700 block of W. 2nd St for a disturbance. A female there said that her ex-husband was just at the residence causing a disturbance and he punched a hole in a door.
On 11-14-2023 officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of N. Main St, for an altercation between a female and her adult daughter.
On 11-14-2023 officers spoke with a male in the 700 block of Suthoff St, who reported that his ex-girlfriend came into his residence uninvited.
On 11-15-2023 the owner of storage units called in reference to an abandoned vehicle left inside a unit.
On 11-15-2023 a female called the police department to report that a suspicious male was going door to door selling candy bars for a school. The school stated they had no fund raiser currently.
On 11-15-2023 officers were sent to the 400 block of Moxie Lane for a disturbance. Officers met with a female who stated that her ex-boyfriend was following her, and they were arguing. The male was advised to not have any contact with the female.
On 11-16-2023 a female called to report to officers that her juvenile son had left the residence, and she could not locate him.
On 11-16-2023 a female called from the 600 block of S. Jefferson St, to report that someone was banging on her front and rear doors.
On 11-16-2023 a manager of a mobile home park called the police department to report that an ex-tenant was on the property removing items. Officers located the male and he advised that he still owned the trailer and the items that he was removing.
On 11-16-2023 officers were made aware of an active warrant out of Allen County for Daniel Dircksen of Delphos. Dircksen was located and taken into custody.
On 11-16-2023 a male called to report that he was being followed, in his vehicle, by a male who had previously threatened him with a hammer.
On 11-17-2023 a male called from the 300 block of S. Pierce St, to report that he had an argument with his step-daughter and she left the residence.
On 11-17-2023 officers were sent to the 200 block of W. Clime St, after a female reported a suspicious person banging on her door.
On 11-18-2023 a male reported that his wallet was lost but then recovered. After getting the wallet back he found that his money was missing.
On 11-18-2023 a male called the police department and reported seeing three juveniles shooting objects from a sling shot at passing cars.
On 11-19-2023 a male contacted the police department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers gathered information for the report but were later notified that the vehicle was located in the possession of a friend.
On 11-19-2023 officers entered a business on E. 5th St and were advised that a subject had just left without paying for items. Officers gave chase and located a juvenile male in possession of the stolen items.
On 11-20-2023 an employee at a business in the 200 block of W. 5th St, reported that a male left the business without paying for items.
On 11-20-2023 officers spoke with a business owner in the 1100 block of Elida Ave, who reported that an unknown person is dumping trash in his dumpster.
On 11-20-2023 officers spoke with a female in the 1100 block of S. Bredeick St, who reported that her juvenile son, who is on probation, had run away from her just after midnight. Several hours later officers were advised that the juvenile had returned home. He was taken into custody and transported to the Troy Juvenile Detention Center.
On 11-21-2023 officers responded to the 100 block of N. Main St, to investigate a possible Domestic abuse complaint. Officers spoke with a female at the residence who denied being abused.
On 11-21-2023 officers were sent to a residence in the 800 Block of S. Clay St, for a report of several dogs that had broken out of a neighbor’s property. The dog’s owner, Keith Simpson, was issued a summons for Failure to Confine Dog’s.
On 11-21-2023 a male called the police department to report receiving unwanted text messages from an ex-girlfriend.
On 11-21-2023 officers were sent to the 200 block of S. Main St, to check the well being of a female threatening to harm herself. Officers located the female and found that she did make statements to harm herself. The female was transported to the hospital by her parents for an evaluation.
On 11-22-2023 a female called the police department to report that her ex-boyfriend was following her and harassing her.
On 11-22-2023 officers were sent to the 100 block of N. Main St, for a possible fight. Officers arrived and met with three females who were having a verbal altercation.
On 11-23-2023 a concerned caller reported seeing a male pounding on a door and acting aggressively. The male left the area in his vehicle prior to officers’ arrival. Officers spoke to the resident and found that the male was just trying to retrieve personal belongings.
On 11-23-2023 officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Grant St for a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke with a female who reported that her boyfriend assaulted her during an argument and then left.
On 11-24-2023 officers were sent to the 600 block of N. Pierce St, for a loud music complaint.
On 11-24-2023 officers were sent to a business on Elida Ave, to investigate a hissing noise and a natural gas smell. Officers arrived and found that someone had struck a gas meter at the business, and it was leaking natural gas.
On 11-25-2023 officers performed a standby for a female in the 400 block of W. Clime St. The female was retrieving items from a residence in which she was evicted from.
On 11-26-2023 officers responded to the 800 block of E. 3rd St, for a juvenile causing a disturbance.
On 11-26-2023 a male called from the 1200 block of S. Bredeick St, to report that his father, who lives in another state, had threatened to drive to his residence and cause him physical harm.
On 11-26-2023 a female called to report that her juvenile son was intoxicated and was trying to leave her residence. Officers arrived and met with the female and her son. It was determined that the juvenile was intoxicated, and a report will be forwarded to the Juvenile Court Prosecutor.
On 11-28-2023 officers were sent to the 500 block of S. Main St, for an unwanted guest complaint.
On 11-28-2023 officers were dispatched to Water Works Park for a suspicious person complaint.
On 11-28-2023 officers met with the manager of a mobile home park on W. Clime St. The manager reported that a male who has been evicted keeps returning to the property causing damage.
On 11-28-2023 officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lima Ave, for a Domestic Disturbance.
On 11-29-2023 a female came to the police department requesting information on obtaining a protection order against her ex-boyfriend.
On 11-30-2023 officers met with the owner of a business in the 1700 block of E. 5th St, who reported that a vehicle was stolen from his property.
On 11-30-2023 officers spoke with a business owner in the 200 block of N. Main St, who reported receiving a suspicious letter.
On 11-30-2023 officers were sent to a residence in the 500 block of S. Washington St, for a Domestic Dispute.
