It was the first day on the job for the Ohio State University of Lima's new dean.
Dr. Timothy Rehner is the college's 7th full-time dean. He comes to the Lima area with plenty of experience as a professor and director of social work at the University of Southern Mississippi. During his time there, his focus was on diversity, social justice, and social welfare. He also won numerous social work awards throughout his more than 25-year career at the university. Rehner hopes his past experiences will help guide him as dean of OSU Lima.
"I think my history will be beneficial just to being attentive to what our student needs, faculty needs and then what our kind of the context of which learning should happen. I've been trying to manage what is learning spaces and that is what I think this job would involve, too, is how does the campus provide the best learning opportunity for students to challenge them to do more and to dream big," said Dr. Timothy Rehnor, OSU Lima dean.
Before leaving the University of Southern Mississippi, Rehner got a Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Association of Social Workers-Mississippi Chapter for his impact on communities throughout the state.
