ST. MARYS, OH (WLIO) - The summer games in Paris may be over, but that didn't stop the seniors at Otterbein Senior Life from having an Olympics of their own.

Over 600 residents and staff members from all 12 of the Otterbein Senior Living Centers in Ohio and Indiana met in St. Marys for the 5th Annual Otterbein Olympics. Each community was represented by their team-colored shirts.
A zipline was on hand for anyone looking to get an adrenaline rush.
The afternoon kicked off with "A Taste of Otterbein," as chefs from all different locations cooked special dishes with a theme like Mardi Gras, Wild West, and Gone Fishing. After that, the seniors put their game faces on and competed in multiple tournament brackets like bocce ball, shuffleboard, pickleball, and sitting volleyball, plus a zipline was on hand for anyone looking to get an adrenaline rush.
The Otterbein residents always look forward to the Olympics and have asked the staff to keep the tradition going.

"What we hear is just "keep doing it" and that it really is a highlight of the year, and it's something like I said that doesn't just stop here because each of the communities, whether it's a shuffleboard league or pickleball every morning, it's really an opportunity to carry this on all year and then look forward to the big Olympics," said Angie Powell and Yvonne Miller, assistant vice president of Senior Life Communities and life enrichment director.
The Otterbein Senior Life Centers will also do a winter Olympics during the cold season indoors.
