AMERICAN TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - American Township's police chief says prosecutors will be determining charges for four people connected to the early morning playground fire.
Around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, the American Township Fire Department was called to the playground at the Laurel Oaks subdivision, which was completely destroyed and a nearby shelter area damaged in the fire.Â
Chief Michael Haines says that during the investigation, they watched surveillance video and identified the suspect vehicle. The police contacted the owner of the vehicle, who came in to talk to the police along with three other suspects. Three adults and one juvenile were interviewed, two of whom are from Allen County and two from the Columbus area.Â
The investigation is ongoing, and when it is complete, it will be presented to the Allen County Prosecutor's Office to determine any possible charges.Â
