In the city of Lima, the mayor says data shows nearly 40% of kindergarteners show up to school and are not ready on day one. They hope this roundtable will help change that number.

"The intent of the listening session is that this organization is going to compile a state-wide report after hearing from communities about what's happening in this childcare space and make recommendations to our legislature," said Mayor Sharetta Smith, City of Lima.

The "listening tour" will be Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in the Lima Library auditorium, located at 650 W Market St, Lima, OH 45801. Registration is at 10 a.m., with the program from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
