4/12/22 Press Release from the Lima Rotary Club: Lima, OH - Groundbreaking for the Greater Lima Region Park and Amphitheater will be Monday, April 18 at 1:15pm, immediately following the regular Monday meeting of the Lima Rotary Club. Those making comments at the groundbreaking are Ohio House Speaker Bob Cupp, Ohio Senate President Matt Huffman, Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith, Lima Rotary Club President Jeff Fitzgerald, Rotarian Rich Rudolph, Civc Center CEO Abe Ambroza, Lima Public Works Director Kirk Niemeyer.
The $2.8 million park and amphitheater will be constructed in the block of downtown Lima that extends from Spring Street to Elm Street and is bounded by Union Street on the east and the backs of the Main Street buildings on the west. Construction will take approximately one year. The public is invited to the groundbreaking.
