LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A suspect is in the hospital after a high-speed police pursuit in Lima late Monday morning.
The driver lost control of the vehicle on Lakewood Avenue, and the car went off the road and down the hill into a wooded area at Faurot Park.
Sometime before 11 a.m., a vehicle crashed after a high-speed pursuit with the Lima Police Department. The driver lost control of the vehicle on Lakewood Avenue, and the car went off the road and down the hill into a wooded area behind the baseball diamonds at Faurot Park.
The suspect fled the scene on foot, with blood on his face, according to scanner traffic. He was captured in less than an hour and transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
According to the Lima Police Department, the vehicle had crashed in Faurot Park, and the suspect fled the scene on foot.
When the Lima Fire Department arrived at the crash, the engine was in flames, but they were able to contain the blaze before it could spread to the rest of the woods.
