UPDATE: We have learned that the motorcycle driver was John McCollom, age 30, of Lake View. He was taken to Lima Memorial for incapacitating injuries.
A motorcycle and a pick-up truck collided outside Uniopolis tonight in Auglaize County sending one to the hospital. A pick-up truck was headed north bound on Ohio 65 when it slowed to make a left hand turn onto Buckland Holden Road. A motorcycle following the truck attempted to pass on the left when he was struck by the truck as it was making a left hand turn. A witness told us at the scene, that she was headed south bound on 65 and quickly responded by calling 911. Ohio Trooper Smith said the motorcyclist wasn't wearing a helmet and was taken to a near by hospital where he was treated for a serious head injury. Ohio State Highway Patrol and Uniopolis Fire Department responded to the accident.
