Serving Up Fun at the F.O.P. Lodge Pancake Day

The local Fraternal Order of Police lodge served up a stack of fun at their annual Lodge Pancake Day Saturday (October 1, 2016) morning.

People flooded in to get the all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage and participate in the silent auction.  It was a way for the Fraternal Order of Police to give back to the community and for the public to see police officers in a different light.  The pancake day is the F.O.P.'s biggest fundraiser; the money raised goes towards all kinds of events through the year.

"The funds go back to the F.O.P. Lodge, some of them go to our various programs like the Cops and Kids program, our charity that we have here," said Mike Watkins, president of F.O.P. Lodge #21.  "We also make contributions to the Lima and Allen County D.A.R.E. programs and just different events throughout the year."

An average of 2,000 to 3,000 people were served.
