St Marys kicked off their 2015 Summerfest with rides, games, and outdoor activities for all ages. They started the morning with a 5k and, this afternoon there's a parade, circus, and other entertainment. They expect around 5,000 people to come through, and all events are free. The chairman says Summerfest wouldn't be possible without all the volunteers. and he hopes everyone comes out to enjoy the event.
"Summerfest, we're trying to make it into a family event, so come here, bring your family here, a lot of people. We have a reunion tent that a lot of the classes rent from us, so they come here to have their reunion," said Dave Masonbrink, chairman of the 2015 Summerfest. Tomorrow they are celebrating veterans and will have WWII vets speaking at the fair.
