A Lima man has his second trial in two months on two separate charges.
A jury has been seated for the felonious assault trial for 38-year-old Christian Jara Coronado. In June of 2021, Coronado was charged after he allegedly caused physical harm to a woman in the parking lot of a retail store. Opening statements began Monday afternoon and the trial is expected to resume Tuesday.
Coronado got eight years in prison after a jury found him guilty of aggravated burglary. In May of 2020, Coronado struck a man in the head twice with a gun after he forced his way into the man's home.
