The two men arrested in connection with a shooting at the G-Spot bar in Lima will have their initial appearance in court on Tuesday. Police arrested 20 year-old Cameron Lott and 19-year-old Donovan Whitfield following a shooting this weekend.
This incident adds to the growing list of gun violence in the area, and one city councilman says it's time to find a solution. Councilman Derry Glenn created t-shirts reading "Lima Against Violence, We Love Our Kids, Come Together as One" and says he will be walking through the city to end the violence.
Glenn says parents, police, and the community need to help stop children from getting guns. "We've got to work together and stay together, that's the only way we're going to beat this problem, you know," said Councilman Derry Glenn, "We can beat this problem, but we've got to find out where the roots are at, where the guns are coming from, who's bringing them here to Lima Allen County, who's bringing the guns here, that's what we've got to find out."Â
You can call Glenn at (419) 905-9572 to get a t-shirt for a $5.00 donation. He says the money will go towards the Hire a Kid program.Â
