ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The organizers of the 4th of July Veterans Cruise-in presented a check to the Veterans Food Pantry of Northwest Ohio.
The organizers were able to raise $1,200 through donations at the Veterans Cruise-in Car Show in Faurot Park as part of the Star Spangled Spectacular.
The donation will provide much-needed food assistance to veterans, their spouses, and active-duty service personnel. The Veteran's Food Pantry is located at 810 W. North Street, Lima, OH.
"We're here at the Veterans Food Pantry right now, and their parking lot is filling up. So I can see that there's a lot of veterans coming down here for that service, so it makes us very pleased that we donate to them," stated Bob Leman, co-chairman of the Veterans Appreciation Car Show.

"It means a lot to us. As everyone knows, grocery prices keep going up, and we go out to the different stores to buy what we can to make sure there's food for them on the shelves. As you can see today, we just stocked our shelves, but it will not take long before they are empty again," added Betsy Potts, co-director of the Veterans Food Pantry.
