Mercy Health Lima is one of the partners that will be contributing to Wapak's athletic facilities, including the $1.75 million grandstand stadium project. Mercy Health will also offer training and speakers for the schools to help educate students and staff. Both parties hope the partnership will not only benefit the students, but also the community of Wapak as a whole.

"Right now students' wellness and support is something that the governor is really big on; they provided hundreds of thousands of dollars to schools, our school, in particular, to provide things for a kids - after school programs, training for kids to live a healthy lifestyle, and that’s what Mercy Health Lima is all about, and that’s what we’re about, we’re here for kids, we're here to help them live a healthy lifestyle," said Aaron Rex, superintendent of Wapakoneta City Schools.

"When we look at the Wapak community, that’s a community that’s been strong supporters of Mercy Health and we went to assure that in the years going forward," said Ronda Lehman, President of St. Rita's Mercy Health in Lima. "There’s been a lot of provider changes in and out of that community, and we want to make sure that that they know that Mercy Health is here to stay, happy to support them, and partner with them."

The partnership will start soon, with the stadium project beginning on December 16th.
