BATH — The Bath Wildcat football program is searching for a new head coach following the resignation of Frank Russell, who has accepted the head coaching position at Batavia near Cincinnati. Batavia’s athletic department is scheduled to officially introduce Russell on Tuesday night.
Russell spent three seasons leading the Wildcats, compiling a 19–16 record during his tenure. Bath reached the postseason in each of those three years, highlighted by a standout 2023 campaign that ended with a 9–3 record, the program’s best season since 1999.
That season also included a second-place finish in the Western Buckeye League and a trip to the regional semifinals. Offensively, Bath led the WBL in total yards per game at 483.3 and topped the league in scoring, averaging 40.9 points per contest.
Batavia is coming off a 4–6 season in which the Bulldogs missed the playoffs, while Bath advanced to the postseason every year under Russell. The Wildcats now begin the process of identifying the next leader for a program coming off one of its strongest stretches in recent memory.
