BATH (WLIO) — The Bath Wildcats opened their 2025 football season in emphatic fashion, powering past Indian Lake 50-21 on Friday night.
Bath, facing an Indian Lake team that reached the D-V regional finals a year ago, controlled the second half behind explosive plays from its offense. Leading 20-7, Zach Welsch broke the game open with an 80-yard touchdown run by Mikey Hale, extending the Wildcats’ lead to 19.
Moments later, Welsch connected with Josiah Clark, who shook off multiple tacklers on his way to a 43-yard score that pushed the advantage to 34-7. Welsch then kept it himself for a rushing touchdown and converted the two-point try, all but sealing the outcome.
Indian Lake’s Brady Golliday answered with a touchdown pass to Brody Reisinger to cut into the deficit, but Bath’s offense remained relentless. Welsch capped the night with another touchdown strike to Clark, giving the Wildcats 50 points in their season debut.
The win marked a strong start for Bath, who will look to build momentum from the convincing performance as the season continues.
