According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were on their way to assist on a crash on CR 7, when they found another crash at the intersection of CR 330.

UPDATE: September 6, 2024, 11:33 a.m.: According to a family member, Thomas Graham and Roger Bumb have succumbed to their injuries.

VANLUE, OHIO (WLIO) - Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in rural Hancock County Friday night. According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were on their way to assist on a crash on CR 7, when they found another crash at the intersection of CR 330 around 6 o’clock Friday night. Deputies say that Roger Bumb, 62, of Carey, failed to stop at the intersection at CR 330 and struck a pickup driven by Thomas Graham, 64, of Bowling Green, on the passenger side. Bumb was flown to a Toledo hospital with serious injuries, and Graham was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital also with suspected serious injuries. Both men were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. 

Media release from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office: On Friday August 30th at approximately 1800 hrs, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office was en route to assist with an injury crash near the intersection of CR 7 and CR 11.  While en route, another injury crash was located at the intersection of CR 7 and CR 330. 

Upon further investigation, it was learned that a Honda Accord, being operated by 62-year-old Roger Bumb of Carey, was traveling westbound on CR7.  A Ford F-150, being operated by 64-year-old  Thomas Graham of Bowling Green, was traveling southbound on CR 330 approaching CR 7.  Roger failed to yield right away to Thomas before being struck on the passenger side.

Mr. Bumb was transported by Life Flight to St. Vincents Medical Center, Toledo for suspected serious injuries.  Mr. Graham was transported by Hanco EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital for suspected serious injuries.

The condition of both Mr. Bumb and Mr. Graham are currently unknown.  Neither were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash.

Assisting with the incident was the Vanlue Fire Department, Washington Township Fire Department, Hanco EMS, Lifeflight, Franks Towing, and BG Towing.
