After a year of searching, the Allen County Fair Board has found their new operations manager.
Troy Elwer has been on the job for a little over a week and learning the ropes from the people in the fair office. The Delphos Saint John’s graduate hopes that he can bring a new perspective and ideas to the fairground and its biggest event the Allen County Fair. Which is something that he is very familiar with.
“When I got this position, I was extremely excited,” says Troy Elwer, new Allen County Fairgrounds Manager. “I have been deeply invested in this fairgrounds for a very long time, being a member of 4H and FFA. So, I started exhibiting animals here when I was 9 years old. So having the position or the title of Promotions and Operation Manager, it is extremely exciting for me. I am really looking forward to getting to work with not only the people in the community but the people employed by the fairgrounds.”
Elwer says he has been working with the board president and the fairground’s new head of marketing on this year’s fair which will begins August 19th.
