It’s a team sport that can take years to score and bring big business with it.
Economic Development is not done by one source. It’s a collaboration of many entities working toward a common goal of finishing the deal. The Regional Growth Partnership is one of those groups that is working to bring development to West Central Ohio. The Lima Noon Sertoma Club hearing about ways the RGP is building a better workforce.
Regional Talent Manager for RGP, Charlene Paige adds, “Because the population just isn’t growing, we have to train the population that we currently have. Whether we’re transitioning people that are under-employed or unemployed through training into positions they can start at a manufacturing facility or one of these other facilities that we’re bringing online.”
Paige says we need to remember they can work for years before a company pulls the trigger to commit to a site. Ohio needs to stay competitive to compete against other states for companies.
