LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Lima Exchange Club is helping a local church mission “Spread the Love” to hungry kids in the Lima area. The club presented a check for $832 to Faith Christian Church’s “Spread the Love” project.
The church launched the mission to address food insecurity among local children. “Spread the Love” will distribute sack meals to kids, including peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, by driving a vehicle around the community. The Exchange Club’s donation will cover the cost of jelly for a year, helping to fight hunger in the area.
“Approximately 20% of the children in this area don’t know where their next meal is coming from. They are hungry for various reasons and lack the resources at home to get the meals they need. We just want to make a difference in the community and help young children,” said Laurie Camper, PR Director for “Spread the Love.”
The first distribution will take place Friday, Feb. 7, starting at 4 p.m., and will continue every Friday thereafter. For more information or to help the mission, contact Faith Christian Church at (419) 229-4136 or visit their Facebook page.
