LIMA, OH (WLIO) - One in four older adults will fall each year, but there are some things that can be done to help prevent a fall from happening.
The Area Agency on Aging 3 held its Fall Prevention Day to raise awareness of fall risk and preventative measures that people can take.

There were several community partners on hand to talk about their services, and the Senior Citizen Services talked to people about safely getting up and down from a chair and the floor. Because learning the right steps now could help prevent a fall later.

"So, we know that falls are not a normal part of aging, despite what a lot of us might think. So, there are resources out there. It's never too late to start to get that information to start exercising, to find a program that works for you. You don't know what you don't know. So, that is why we are here as the area agency on aging and why we can bring some of our local partners together as well because prevention is key," says Ashlin Magrum, health education coordinator for AAA3.
