Dozens of good manufacturing jobs are going unfilled in the Greater Lima Region.
To help fill these positions, free training is once again being offered at Rhodes State College. The Workforce Development and Innovation team at the college is gearing up for another entry-level course in Basic Machining and CNC Machine Operation. This round of training is open to any city of Lima resident who may be interested in entering this field.
Project Manager of Workforce Development Rhodes State College, Lew Modic adds, “It also opens up their opportunities to maybe pursue further education, further their skills, and possibly a degree even. I encourage people to get into this just as something to try. If you wanted to try something different, you’re not happy in the job you have right now. Maybe you’re working in fast food, and you want to try manufacturing, but you never really had the chance. This will give you a chance to go and get the skill set to do that.”
The free course is for people 18 and older and will be from March 15th through April 20th on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The registration deadline is March 8th.
