DELPHOS, OH (WLIO) - The Delphos community recognized the best businesses in town and organizations in town Saturday night for all they do.
The annual Delphos Derby and Chamber of Commerce awards dinner presented awards for five categories of organizations in the community and commemorated dozens of others for longevity mile stones ranging from 5-120 years. There was plenty of fun things for residents to enjoy at the dinner, including raffles and horse betting. For the winners, it's an honor to receive the award because it means their hard work has left its mark on Delphos.
"The reason is because the chamber, all we do is promote it. The community are the ones who nominate them, they put in the effort of putting in their 'so and so should get this, so and so should get that,' and they have a chamber list to pick from. And from there the businesses have to put in the time and effort. They have to put in the effort of filling out the entry forms and then we give them to judges that have no affiliation with Delphos or the chamber so we have as non-biased answers as possible," said Lindsey Lane, the director of the Delphos Area Chamber of Commerce.
